*I have finally found and purchased a lovely soft black crew neck.*
I say this with some *excitement* as I have been hunting for a lovely, soft, great material black crew neck, with long sleeves, for a while now.
I found this cotton/modal mix basic in Sainsbury's of all places. I had been willing to invest quite a lot more heavily, and was going to blind order online from some stores I've not bought from before, but then, this lovely simple top appeared to me during my recent pop into the supermarket.
It was an absolute steal at £8.50.
I wanted a lovely material so it feels soft and comfortable to wear, because since reading The Curated Closet book I am vowing to myself to;
- not buy anything I don't love;
- not buy anything that ain't going to work with other items in my wardrobe;
- not buy anything with material that is not soft to the touch/wear (especially woolly items!)
I have been looking for a simple black top like this to be able to dress down some of my growing, dressier skirt collection, for day to day weekend wear, and also to add layers underneath on much colder days.
And I'm very pleased to have been able to do just that this past weekend.
The red lips and tulle skirt add to the lovely dressed up feel that I feel most comfortable in, whilst the black long sleeve basic crew neck keep the outfit balanced for a day of being out and about.
So... well done Sainsbury's for putting such a lovely, affordable, well mixed material basic on your shelves. This is one very happy customer!
In case anyone else is searching for lovely soft basics, they were also available in loads of other colours too (I think I've linked the right one here so you can find them for colours). I've resisted most, but I *may* have been back to pick up the red one!
