Our accommodation for the two nights we spent in Jersey this weekend was BEAUTIFUL! We were staying in The Royal Yacht Hotel, in the main town of St Helier.
A stunning hotel, standing proudly on a pedestrianised square area, with two marinas in view from the front of the hotel, and the ruined Elizabeth Castle in St Aubin's Bay in the background.
The reception itself was very pretty, with a large light well and we were looked after wonderfully by all the staff on reception.
Our double room had everything you needed in a hotel room; a large comfy bed, with that super soft, all white bedding, tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer, heat, minibar etc...
The bathroom was modern and super clean, and the shower was almost TOO powerful and we seemed to soak the whole room each time we took a shower!
But... BUT, the best bit of our room was our balcony! It was enormous, long and with views across the pedestrianised square and right across to the castle in the bay. The hotel has an old and a new building, and we were in the old building part, in one of only two rooms that had balconies on the front of the old building part spanning the width of it. You couldn't tell from the inside of the hotel as it's all obviously seamlessly of the same standard throughout.
I sat on the balcony a couple of times just watching people milling about, or reading out there (or taking pictures!!)
As well as sleeping at The Royal Yacht, we also had an hour in their spa, ate in one of their restaurants on Saturday night, drank in their bars, and visited their nightclub (yes, with my 60 y o mum and co!)... which were all as equally lovely as their accommodation. I'm not usually a fan of hotel restaurants or bars, but this place was packed with a fun, lively atmosphere and it was very easy to just take the lift back to our room when we were done for the night!
A lovely place to stay, with a great atmosphere, and friendly staff throughout!
