I've come to the decision that there never seems an appropriate jump off point for a blog to begin, and it felt like this first post could stand in the way of me ever starting a blog. So without further ado, I'm just beginning.
I'm leaving my negative thoughts at my currently slipper-socked feet, and not worrying how good or bad this may be, or how it may turn out. I'm not worrying about how amazing the world of blogging is nowadays, and that there appears to be no hobby bloggers.
I'm going to try not to let that devil 'comparison' enter my head, and instead I'm going to just go with it. I'm not going to get hell bent on what should or shouldn't be here on this space, or even plan it out much. And lastly, I need to leave my worries about poor photography at the door for now, I don't take awesome photos, fact! For now, I'm going to allow some organic beginnings sow their way and follow that lead.
I'm interested in lots in life, and I read a huge variety of blogs myself. Categories really do cross a wide section; travel, home, DIY, food, living intentionally, happiness, beauty, habits, books, writing, general life, and fashion, and I finally, without much consideration, have decided I want to get in the habit of writing, just a little, even if at this stage I really don't know a category that I'd say I want to write about specifically.
In November 2015, I took part in, and completed, NaNoWriMo, writing my way to victory with 50200+ words in 30 days! A complete novel, with a beginning, middle and end is now saved and stored, and will forever be something I have achieved, even if I do nothing ever again with it...
That month of intense writing was frenzied, hard, but great! That time typing was richer in quality than just watching a boring re-run on TV and I chose my time more carefully as each day I needed to achieve a certain word count. It's not hard to carve out that time, if you want to get on with it, and it's this kind of thinking which has led me here today, typing this first post.
No ceremony required, let's just see where this blog goes...
